The wind was quite bad all night long so I slept a little light. There was even some rain during the night but not really enough to worry about. I got up around 7AM. After breakfast and packing up, I headed back to overlook Delta Lake and catch a glimpse
I first got up around 6AM to see the sunrise against Mount Moran from where I slept on the beach at South Landing. Since I knew I would be able to hike 6 miles in a 3-4 hours, I didn’t feel rushed to get up and pack up right away.
On Friday morning, I proceeded to the Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center to workout my backcountry permitting with the Park Rangers. The Building is open daily from 8am to 7pm and you can work with the Rangers during that time. I got to the Visitor Center around 8:30
Summary A day of hiking with friends and the dog in the Mt Baker National Forest/Mt Baker Wilderness areas along the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail. This was a non-technical hike that is very easy to do with a dog. This is generally an easy hike and does not have much elevation
